Is that really made from paper?

All our pieces are made from recycled, ethically sourced material. In turn, they are themselves fully recyclable and in most cases, repulpable - meaning they will eventually be reincarnated as something else useful.

We use a 'closed cell' fibreboard which is reconstituted from recycled post consumer cardboard waste.
It's this dense core sandwiched between thick liner paper that makes it suitable for load bearing applications such as ours, in fact, it's a great sustainable alternative to MDF.

The board is used by many different industries in a multitude of applications (e.g. retail displays, shop-fitting, signage) - but for our purposes, we convert it into the furniture and accessories available in our  shop .

Is that really made from sugar?

Well, actually yes it is. The material is Polylactic acid (PLA) and is mainly produced from sugar in corn starch and thus produced from a renewable source (contrary to petro-based plastics such as ABS).
It is biodegradeable, compostable and recyclable as long as it's disposed of properly and separated out from other plastics prior to going to the recycling centre.
